Ganesh Himal & Ruby Valley Trekking is the ideal adventure where trek leads away from the mainstream. Following the off-beaten tracks and on a well hidden scenic country far from villages and human settlements for some days. The massif bulk of Ganesh Himal is clearly seen from Kathmandu Valley on a clear fine day towards North-West. Located within Central Himalayas in between Langtang in the east with Manaslu towards west.

The areas around Ganesh Himal Base Camp and Ruby Valley is less visited by main flow of trekkers. Due to its remote wilderness, requires full backing with camping equipment and foods to carry for the whole treks.

Ganesh Himal Base Camp & Ruby Valley, is different than other normal trekking destination. It is more of an exploration as the route is rarely visited, which makes this trek special. Trekking within raw and fresh countries of the Central Himalayas and standing amidst giant peaks of Ganesh massive peaks.

Ganesh Himal main peak is at 7, 422 m high, where few mountaineers often ventures for summit bid. The name Ganesh is derived from a Hindu mythological God Ganesh with a head of an elephant. The mountain South Face of Ganesh 

Himal-IV or Pabil Peak, resemble like an elephant trunk. Hence the name came to be known as Ganesh Himal, in local native Tamang is Yangar for Ganesh Himal. The name Yangar of Tibetan origin language means a heavenly paradise, truly a wonderful place with pristine environment.

After exploring the Ganesh Himal Base Camp, then the next part of the journey leads over a high Sing-La Pass. To enter the picturesque Ruby Valley a wide exciting country on the laps of Ganesh and Manaslu Himalayas.

The adventure heads towards Mid-West South across the scenic Ruby Valley to reach lovely traditional farm villages around Dhading district.

The walk follows through nice villages after days being in mountain wilderness then reaching the road-head. At Dhading Besi Town for an exciting drive back to Kathmandu. Then our wonderful adventure of great experience to Ganesh Himal & Ruby Valley Trekking concludes.

Best Seasons for Ganesh Himal and Ruby Valley Trekking

The best times for Ganesh Himal & Ruby Valley trek are spring, autumn. The high seasons for trekking around the Himalayas. Most days are clear for views and pleasant walks. The spring season begins from March to May, most days is pleasant, with glorious views of snow-capped mountain range.

Spring is also the best time for wildflowers, especially the rhododendrons of various species and colors. Makes the whole hills and valley lively and colorful, can get overcast with light rain sometimes. Cold morning and night time above 1,500 m onwards. The next good season is autumn from September to November, it is also the peak seasons for trekking around the Himalayas. 

Clear day for views and pleasant walks, sunny days most of the time in autumn. But gets dark soon, due to short sunlight hours, cold morning, and late afternoon till nighttime. Can expect snowfall above 2,500 m high.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with optional sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m – 07 hours.
Day 04: Trek to Gatlang 2,438 m -05 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Somdang 3,270 m – 06 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Ganesh Himal Base Camp at 4,600 m – 06 hrs.
Day 07: At Base Camp rest and acclimatization.
Day 08: Trek towards to the base of Sing-la Pass 3, 140 m – 06 hrs.
Day 09: Cross Sing-La pass 4,045 m and camp at the bottom 3, 240 m – 05 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Shertung 1,920 m or Chalis-Gaon 1,674 m – 06 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Nebar 2,020 m via Tatopani (hot-spring) – 05 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Lapa-Gaon 1,850 m via Timal Danda and Lapchet – 05 hrs.
Day 13: Trek to Ri-Gaon 1,550 m via Bramachet Danda (ridge) – 06 hrs.
Day 14: Trek to Phul Kharka 1,210 m – 06 hrs.
Day 15: Cross Jyamrung-Danda camp at Chap Bhanjyang 1,550 m – 06 hrs.
Day 16: Trek to Dhading Besi 950 m via Gola and Murli Bhanjyang- 05 hrs.
Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu 1,310 m – 05 hrs.
Day 18: Free day in Kathmandu for tour or enjoy individual activities.
Day 19: International departure for homeward bound.
