Everest Base Camp and Three High Passes Trekking is an amazing and fabulous adventures. Walking on the high ridges and scenic valleys in the close shadow of world’s highest towering peaks. The views of mountain range remains constant throughout the treks to Everest base camp and crossing over Three Passes.

A great wonderful destination to experience of little more of two weeks’ duration trekking. Exploring lovely traditional villages of the Sherpa’s the highlanders of Khumbu and Eastern Himalayas. Where every village are adorned with age-old cultural heritage of Buddhism religion lined with prayer walls and spinning wheels.

Everest Base Camp and Three High Passes Trekking follows the main popular route for some days. Then the trail diverts towards hidden corners, away from mainstream and human settlements in the close harmony mountain wilderness.

An adventure of a lifetime experience and makes you feel in high spirits after crossing all the three passes. As well as visiting the world number one base camp standing beneath Mt. Everest.

The trek begins from Lukla Town after a scenic flight from Kathmandu, and then towards high above at Namche Bazaar. A great village almost the size of a moderate town with good facilities for trekkers and villagers of Khumbu.

After spending an extra day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization, and then on the road to cross first Khongma-La Pass. The trek Namche Bazaar takes you to beautiful location at Tengboche with a majestic monastery.

The walk from Tengboche heads higher above the tree lines, reaching Dingboche and Chukung settlements. From here the real adventure begins crossing over the first high Khongma-La Pass to reach the famous Everest base camp.

Enjoying the dramatic views similar to arctic like landscapes terrains covered in rocky moraines, ice, snow and glaciers. Overlooking close views of tumbling bulk of Khumbu Ice Fall just above the base camp. After an exciting moments adventure heads towards the highest point of the adventures on top famous Kalapathar rocky ridge. Where one can get the closest views of Mt. Everest with arrays of staggering giant peaks. After a great experience on top the highest spot then descending towards Cho-La Pass at Dzongla. Then getting ready to cross the second Cho-La Pass to reach beautiful Gokyo Valley of lakes.  

A strenuous steep climb reaches you on top facing incredible panorama of surrounding towering peaks. Facing Cholatse, Lobuche East and West peaks with Nirekha peak as far as Mt. Cho-Oyu. A long descent brings you at the base of Cho-La Pass at Thaknag, located eastern rim of Gokyo Valley.

On reaching the scenic valley of Gokyo coming across the first, second and the third main lakes. Enjoy another pleasant rest day with climb to high Gokyo-Ri rewards with world’s four highest peaks. From Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu to Makalu with series of snow peaks with grand vista of Gokyo Valley and the lakes.

Adventure then slowly comes to an end to cross the last final Renjo-La Pass, a great effort required. Then reach atop Renjo-La Pass, with mind-blowing panorama of snow peaks that surrounds the top of Renjo-La. An easy downhill takes you to the western end of Khumbu Valley at quant village of Thame.

From Thame on gradual trail to Namche Bazaar, then down to Lukla for last overnight, around Khumbu and Everest regions. Next morning a swift short flight bring you Kathmandu to complete the wonderful adventures. After a marvelous experience on Everest base camp and Three High Passes Trekking. 

Best Seasons for Everest Base Camp and Three Passes Trekking

The best times for Everest Base Camp & Three Passes trek are spring, autumn. The high seasons for trekking around the Himalayas. Most days are clear for views and pleasant walks. The spring season begins from March to May, most days is pleasant, with glorious views of snow-capped mountain range.

Spring is also the best time for wildflowers, especially the rhododendrons of various species and colors. Makes the whole hills and valley lively and colorful, can get overcast with light rain sometimes. Cold morning and night time above 3,000 m onwards. The next good season is autumn from September to November, it is also the peak seasons for trekking around the Himalayas. 

Clear day for views and pleasant walks, sunny days most of the time in autumn. But gets dark soon, due to short sunlight hours, cold morning, and late afternoon till nighttime. Can expect snowfall above 3,500 m high.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with optional sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2, 846 m and trek to Phakding 2,645 m – 04 hrs.  
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m / 11, 350 feet – 06 hrs.
Day 05: At Namche for acclimatization and short scenic hike.
Day 06: Trek to Tengboche 3,867 m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,410 m – 05 hrs.
Day 08: Rest day in Dingboche for acclimatization and short excursion.
Day 09: Trek to Chukung 4, 740 m-04 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Lobuche 4,960 m crossing Khoma-La Pass 5,535 m – 08 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and back to Gorakshep – 06 hrs. 
Day 12: Climb Kalapathar 5,643 m / 18,514 feet trek to Dzongla 4, 750 m. 
Day 13: Cross Cho-La pass 5,420 m and descend to Thagnak 4,760 m-08 hrs.
Day 14: Trek to Gokyo Third Lakes 4,800 m-04 hrs.
Day 15: At Gokyo rest day and hike to Gokyo-Ri at 5,357 m high.
Day 16: Cross Renjo-La 5,360 m, and descend to Lungden 4,340 m- 07 hrs.
Day 17: Trek to Thame 3,880 m-06 hrs.
Day 18: Trek to Monjo 2,880 m via Namche Bazaar- 05 hrs.
Day 19: Trek to Lukla 2, 846 m – 04 hours.
Day 20: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu with afternoon free at leisure.
Day 21: Free day in Kathmandu for tour or enjoy individual activities.
Day 22: International departure for homeward bound.
