This short and wonderful trek begins from the scenic city of Pokhara, an exciting drive reaches the hill village of Ulleri. The tough steep ups to Ulleri are covered by driving or otherwise, the trekkers had to climb thousands of stone steps.
After a nice village of Ulleri, the walk leads into beautiful forest surroundings of tall rhododendrons and pine trees. Then reaching our destination at Ghorepani village, stand atop a high ridge at the base of the famous Poon Hill.
Ghorepani is a lovely place, as well as the highest village for overnight halt. The next early morning, a short hike up to Poon Hill to catch stunning sunrise over arrays of snow peaks. Overlooking the grand vista of
Mt. Dhaulagiri is the world’s 7th highest, and Mt. Manaslu is the 8th highest. Include the massif range of Annapurna Himalayan peaks listed as the 10th highest peaks the Mt. Annapurna-I.
Enjoying the refreshing cool morning mountain air within the pristine surroundings, the walks continue. Heading up and down to reach the last mountain village at Ghandruk, populated by the Gurung hill tribes.

Best Seasons for Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trekking
The best times for this short and scenic trek to Poon Hill are spring, autumn. The high seasons for trekking around the Himalayas. Most days are clear for views and pleasant walks. The spring season begins from March to May, most days is pleasant, with glorious views of snow-capped mountain range.Spring is also the best time for wildflowers, especially the rhododendrons of various species and colors. Makes the whole hills and valley lively and colorful, can get overcast with light rain sometimes.
Cold morning and night time above 1,500 m onwards. The next good season is autumn from September to November, it is also the peak seasons for trekking around the Himalayas. Clear day for views and pleasant walks, sunny days most of the time in autumn. But gets dark soon, due to short sunlight hours, cold morning, and late afternoon till nighttime.
Can expect snowfall around Ghorepani to Tadapani sometimes. Ghorepani and Poon Hill treks can be enjoyed during the winter times of Christmas and New Year Holidays and onwards. But temperatures drop to freezing cold in the morning, late afternoon and night times. Could get snowfall, sometimes during the winter times. But most days are fine and sunny for views and walks with ever present scenery of the Annapurna Himalayas.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani village 2,885 m – 04 hrs.
Day 06: Morning hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani 2,640 m-06 hrs.
