Located on the ancient Trans Himalaya Salt Trade route between Nepal and Tibet, where trade took place between the two countries.

Spending extra days at Sama-Gaon to explore its traditional villages and scenic viewpoints, as well as for acclimatization. After Sama-Gaon on the high road to Larke Phedi, the bottom of the pass on leaving the last Samdo village.

Dharmasala or Larke Phedi is a small settlement with few huts serving as lodges for travelers. From Dharmasala, an early morning adventurous long steep climb leads to the top of Larke-La, the highest point of the trek. Enjoy the grand vista of high Himalayan peaks that surrounds the scenic pass of Larke-La.
