If your schedule is tight but your heart is set on the Himalayas, this trek is for you. Our 7-day Everest panorama trek packs the best of the Khumbu region into a shorter itinerary—without the full commitment of our standard 14-day Everest Base Camp journey.

Over five days of trekking, you’ll be immersed in some of Nepal’s most spectacular mountain scenery. Expect breathtaking views of Everest, the dramatic pyramid of Ama Dablam, towering Lhotse, and the striking peaks of Kongde Ri and Kusum Kanguru. It’s a taste of the high Himalayas that leaves a lasting impression.

What to Expect

Your adventure begins with a scenic 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, landing at one of the world’s most thrilling mountain airstrips. From there, the trail leads you up the lush canyon of the Dudh Kosi River, winding through pine forests, suspension bridges, and riverside villages. After two rewarding days of trekking, you’ll arrive in Namche Bazaar—the vibrant Sherpa capital perched high in the mountains.

The next morning, we take a day hike to the famous Everest View Hotel. The panorama from here is unforgettable: Everest standing tall above the horizon, Ama Dablam gleaming in the sun, and a sweeping vista of the Khumbu peaks stretching in every direction. It’s the kind of view that stops you in your tracks.

On day four, we explore the traditional Sherpa villages of Khunde and Khumjung. These quiet mountain communities are steeped in culture and surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes in the region. If you’re lucky, your guide might take you to the Khumjung Monastery, said to house a relic of the legendary Yeti.

The final trekking day sees us descending back to Lukla, retracing our steps through the valley. You’ll catch your flight to Kathmandu the following morning, returning with stories, photos, and a deep appreciation for the Himalayan way of life.

Why Choose This Trek?

This is a well-balanced introduction to trekking in the Everest region. You’ll experience authentic Sherpa culture, walk through Sagarmatha National Park, and enjoy world-class mountain views—all without the time commitment or higher altitudes of the full base camp route.
It’s ideal for travelers with limited time, families, or those wanting to test their trekking legs before committing to a longer expedition. And we can promise you this: once you’ve been here, you’ll be planning your return to Nepal before you even leave.
Whether it’s your first trek or your tenth, the Khumbu has a way of calling you back. This short trek is just the beginning.

Day 02

Drive to Ramechhap, Fly to Lukla, Trek to Phakding

Altitude 2,800m (9,184ft)
Accommodation Tea House
Meals Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We'll start early—around 2 am—for the drive to Ramechhap, a small airport about four and a half hours from Kathmandu. From there, you'll catch a short, scenic flight into Lukla, landing at one of the most dramatic airstrips in the world. Once you've landed, you'll meet your trekking guide and porter, and the adventure begins. The first day's walk is relatively easy—a gentle descent through Chaurikharka village toward Dudhkoshi Ghat (2,530m), following the banks of the Dudh Kosi River. The trail winds through scattered settlements and prayer flag-draped bridges until you reach Phakding (2,652m), a popular overnight stop for trekkers heading into the Khumbu. Settle into your tea house, enjoy a warm meal, and rest up. Tomorrow, the trail gets a bit steeper. Important Note: Due to ongoing upgrades at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, most Lukla flights now depart from Ramechhap. The return journey at the end of the trek takes between 4 and 6 hours depending on traffic.
Day 03

Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Altitude 3,440m (11,283ft)
Accommodation Tea house
Meals Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, we'll head toward Namche Bazaar, the largest Sherpa village in the Khumbu and the gateway to the high Himalayas. The trail crosses the Dudh Kosi River on a long suspension bridge before climbing through a beautiful pine forest to Monjo, about two hours away. Just beyond Monjo, we'll reach the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park for a quick permit check. From there, the path descends to the river again—keep an eye out for mani stones carved with Buddhist prayers along the way—before reaching Jorsale, where we'll stop for lunch. The afternoon brings the day's toughest section: a steep climb up to Namche. The trail follows the riverbank and crosses the impressive Hillary Suspension Bridge before zigzagging uphill through rhododendron and pine. It's a challenging ascent, but your effort is rewarded at the top. As you crest the ridge and enter Namche Bazaar, you'll catch your first stunning glimpse of Mount Everest rising above the surrounding peaks.
Day 04

Acclimatization Day Hike: Everest View Hotel and Khunde/Khumjung

Altitude 3,440m (11,283ft)
Accommodation Tea House
Meals Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today is an acclimatization day, which means you'll sleep at the same altitude but hike higher during the day to help your body adjust. We'll set out early for the Everest View Hotel, perched about an hour's climb above Namche. The views from here are spectacular—Everest, Lhotse, and the iconic pyramid of Ama Dablam spread out before you. Sit back with a hot coffee and soak it all in. From the hotel, we'll continue to the traditional Sherpa villages of Khunde and Khumjung, tucked beneath towering peaks and surrounded by stone-walled fields. If you're interested, ask your guide to take you to Khumjung Monastery, which is said to house the scalp of a Yeti—a fascinating piece of local legend. After exploring the villages, we'll loop back to Namche via the small airstrip at Syangboche, arriving in time for a relaxed evening.
Day 05

Namche Bazaar to Phakding and Lukla

Altitude 2,800m (9,184ft)
Accommodation Tea house
Meals Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, we begin the descent back toward Lukla. The trail retraces our steps through Namche, past the Hillary Suspension Bridge, and down through the villages and forests we passed on the way up. It's a long day of walking, but mostly downhill, and the lower altitude will leave you feeling lighter and more energized. We'll arrive in Lukla by late afternoon. This is your last night on the mountain, and traditionally, it's celebrated with a small party with your trekking crew. You've done it—walked into the heart of the Khumbu, stood beneath some of the highest peaks on earth, and made it back safely. It's an accomplishment worth celebrating, and one that many people only dream of.
Day 06

Fly to Ramechhap, Drive to Kathmandu

Altitude 1,350m (4,428ft)
Meals Breakfast
In the morning, you'll catch your flight from Lukla back to Ramechhap, then drive back to Kathmandu. Once you've checked into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours—time to rest, reflect, take a hot shower, and maybe catch up on sleep. In the evening, we'll gather for a farewell dinner at one of Kathmandu's best traditional Nepali restaurants. It's a chance to share stories, swap photos, and give us your feedback on the trek. We'd love to hear how it went. Note: The return drive from Ramechhap to Kathmandu can take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours depending on traffic conditions.
Day 07

Departure from Kathmandu

Altitude 1,350m (4,428ft)
Your last morning in Nepal. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then take some time for last-minute shopping or exploring around Thamel if your flight allows. We'll arrange your transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport with plenty of time to spare. This is where we say goodbye—but we hope it's not for long. Nepal has a way of calling people back. Safe travels, and thank you for trekking with us.
